Commitment:  In the best of all worlds...

(In your situation it might be different; and all learning must be specific to the context/situation!)

Learning Lab Schedule
Monday  Tuesday  Wednesday  Thursday  Friday
Sept 7  Learning Lab 1   Learning Lab 1
Sept 14  Learning Lab 1   Learning Lab 1
Sept 21  Learning Lab 1   Learning Lab 1
Sept 28  Learning Lab 1   Learning Lab 2
Oct 5  Learning Lab 2   Learning Lab 2

You schedule could look like the schedule above.

This would be a year long lab.  Sessions would be scheduled twice a week. Length of each session could vary.  It might be as short as 15 or 20  minutes or as long as a "regular" 40-45 minute class.  The Learning Lab format could also be similar to readers or writers workshops.  Each lab would take several weeks. Although topics should change every few weeks, each topic would be integrated as you went along.   So, for example,  you might start with Self-Management and then move on to Purpose; but you would continue to use Self-Management strategies.

Ideally, completing the year long lab would earn credits and enable the student to apply for a Peer Coach position.

Your lab work ideally would be integrated with one or two content courses.

The Teacher Coach and Peer Coaches would confer with subject area

teacher(s)on a regular basis so as to integrate the content and skills of the content courses.

Peer Coaches would be students who successfully completed the Futures Lab a prior year.

The Lab Teacher Coach could be a classroom teacher, learning specialist, enrichment teacher, or someone hired to specifically teach Learning Lab classes/workshops.
